What we think about it:
Kopav - "I had this happen to me. Bought a brand new CyberPower Gaming PC through Amazon. Graphics card died a little over a year of owning it. I contacted Amazon, CyberPower PC and the Graphics Card manufacturer."
9inchjackhammer - "That must have been a stressful 3 months"
Bobert_Manderson - "It’s funny because I once ordered a PSU and it was supposed to be prime 2 day or next day, but it was delayed. It was all I needed to finish the build so I was pissed and after finally getting to a human operator, all I had to do was tell them I wanted to cancel prime. They not only refunded the PSU and let me keep it, they also gave me a free month of prime. So I got paid $15 to receive a $150 PSU."
blausommer - "I had the same issue, except the PSU was brand new and DOA. Had to replace it and wait again with no compensation from Amazon."
Bobert_Manderson - "I’ve had to do that. This time I was just fed up since I paid for prime to get fast shipping. If it’s late I’m not getting what I paid for."
OffbeatDrizzle - "They try to bait and switch you with the delivery too - on the product page will say something like "order now to get by 1pm tomorrow", so you press buy and then by default the shipping is set to "tomorrow" - something that's easy to glance over because you saw it say tomorrow on the previous page. But no, what it's actually set to is ANY TIME tomorrow - you have to manually go in and change it to "tomorrow before 1pm" every single time. This has caught me out twice now - it's not like I can't wait for the product to arrive, it's the fact that they're advertising "look how fast this item will come if you buy it now because you have prime, aren't we so great?". Then you have to manually change it and double, triple check after they already shoved super fast delivery down your throat."
S_A_N_D_ - "Support has done downhill in my experience. I've found that the support agent you get will promise the world, but they never actually follow through with it, and when you follow up (including providing them with the chat history), they suddenly deny the compensation promised with no explanation."
TeutonJon78 - "Amazon has been shittier in the past year than ever before, and they seem to not care at all about the sliding level of the people who sell on their platform."
RegulatoryCapture - "I’m with you. If you live in a big city with distribution centers and Amazon trucks, you get a lot of stuff next day now."
LaGrrrande - "They like to ship stuff between their own warehouses, because then it's cheaper for them to pay UPS/USPS/FedEx to take it the rest of the way from a closer warehouse. They don't count the time that they're shipping it internally, they just don't start their timer until they hand it off, even if that's days after you ordered it."
RegulatoryCapture - "You know, that’s the first explanation anyone has given me that actually makes sense."
LaGrrrande - "Yeah, it's trash. I canceled Prime years ago because the shipping speeds in my area slowed to a crawl and the customer service tanked."
MrGooseHerder - "Enshittificaton."
valryuu - "Not to mention the issues with comingled inventory, and their customer service going down the shitter with what reps are allowed to do now."
AnniaT - "Amazon is shit to their employees and it's getting worse. That reflects on the quality of the service."
TeutonJon78 - "They have said for awhile that two day shipping isn't actually a guarantee."
getuchapped - "If they offer a service and don't honor it they need to do more. It is on them, as I pay a monthly subscription for this service. It's their obligation to make sure the vendors they use follow thru with what I am paying for, otherwise their whole business model is a scam"
TeutonJon78 - "The service they offer is effectively only shipping. Even with Prime they just offer faster shipping."
getuchapped - "You're not even the person I was responding to originally -- who had DOA component and wanted compensation, not replacement, so I don't know what you're getting on about."
