Acer Predator Helios 16 laptop review: A quiet gaming laptop with many strengths

What we think about it:

juggarjew - "I have this laptop, its really nice. Much better than Nitro 5's ive had in the past."

SolidPoint - "How loud is it while gaming? What kind of fps are you seeing, in what games?"

MiniMustache841 - "How are the temps on the thing? I heard that the cpu reaches 100 degrees and the gpu at over 90. Is that the case with yours?"

juggarjew - "Temps are excellent, it has Liquid Metal thermal paste on the CPU so it generally stays at reasonable temps. GPU wise I never saw more than 68C in benchmarking. During games it doesn’t get out of the lower 70s."

MiniMustache841 - "Even in turbo mode? I guess that just means the youtuber named Higher Order Construct got a shitty Helios 16"

Striking_Voice4147 - "Might be a good idea to never own a computer called Predator."

agent_catnip - "Why not?"

SolidPoint - "Wait until he finds out about other words that can mean bad things"

Striking_Voice4147 - "Your entire comment history is weak attempts at “punchlines” that never land, because they aren’t funny."

Striking_Voice4147 - "Gaming Laptops have been doing well for a while bud"

Substantial_Boiler - "Gaming laptops are already mainstream... Also, the iGPU and dGPU in a gaming laptop serves different purposes - they will never replace each other's roles."

IsoRhytmic - "Integrated GPUs are getting really good. The ROG ally and Steamdeck both have AMD APUs and perform very well"

hibi_chan - "Price is pretty good. Unfortunately nowhere near enough memory for me to purchase this. 1 TB is really low imo, I even think 2 TB is pretty low, but I do a lot of CAD/CAE stuff so that’s a personal issue."
